Ingredients Required:
1 cup warm water between 110 and 115 degrees Fahrenheit
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cups flour
Directions: :
Measure water in a measuring cup, add yeast and sugar. Stir slowly until active and foamy. Takes about 5 min.
Into your stand mixer add salt, oil and 2 cups of flour. Attach the dough hook. Let the machine stir it gently while adding the yeast mixture. It should come together in a ball that is just a bit sticky.
Spray second bowl with non-sticking cooking spray, add the dough ball and spray the top. Cover with plastic and let sit until it doubles in size, about 1 or 2 hours.
When ready break apart and roll the dough into 12 sticks, using some flour on the table if needed. (coat with butter and Parmesan cheese is desired)
Cook on a non-stick cookie sheet at 375 degrees until golden brown.
